About Bayou Bend...
In 2007, I was introduced to the Cenla Daylily Society by a very dear friend, Ellis Powell. Since then, (when I'm not spending time with my wife, Nikki, or playing with our twin boys, Denton and Hudson) I spend a great deal of time working in my garden, Bayou Bend Daylilies.
The name Bayou Bend was taken from the name of the creek (Bayou Clear) that runs through our property and feeds the garden. When I’m not in my garden, you can find me studying daylilies in books and catalogues and searching online to see what new introductions are coming out!
My parents and I were in the wholesale nursery business for several years. Most of our inventory consisted of ornamental shrubs such as azaleas, gardenias, roses and various hollies. I acquired my love and knowledge of plants and landscaping from working with my parents. What began as my dad's "retirement project", Joel's Nursery, has become my business, Bayou Bend Daylilies. I offer landscaping and lawn maintenance services, and (of course) I sell daylilies. I have been bitten by the hybridizing bug and am looking forward to the day I register my first flower!
In the last few years, I have collected several hundred varieties of daylilies. These include traditional forms, unusual forms and spidery types. I grow many of the newest and best cultivars by the major hybridizers in today's market.
In 2009, Bayou Bend Daylilies became an AHS Display Garden. I welcome all interested in gardening to visit the nursery and my family anytime.

"Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you..." Luke 12:27-28
